Hi Ho Hi Ho

it’s off to Shreveport we go. We are headed to Shreveport for the long weekend (thanks to Federal holidays!) This is the first time back since John and MC’s wedding. Julia was 2.5 months old. Needless to say we are so excited to see friends and family. We are really thrilled about Julia showing her great grandparents some of her new tricks! I am vowing to capture more of these moments on camera than I have done in the past.
Here are some pictures of Julia from our last visit to Shreveport:

Oh how you have grown!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Happy birthday Papa! Today is the day to celebrate you. We love you so much. Thanks for teaching us all we know about cows, gardens and as of late, chickens!! Oh yeah and let's not forget your delicious southern cooking. Papa has an amazing calming affect on Julia. She loves to listen to him sing and snuggle with him in his chair. We are so lucky to have you as our grandad and dad - oh yeah, you may also be our only blog reader. We miss you so much and can't wait to see you soon. Marc, Julia and I hope your day and next year are nothing less than the best! Much love!

Here is Papa with his two favorite girls Christmas Morning!

No doubt about it, Olivia is Papa's best help on the farm!

And just like that she is 5 months old!

So obviously my hopes and dreams to do a post each month on Julia's milestones were just that, hopes and dreams. I haven't done a post like that since her 1 month post, now here we sit with an incredibly fun and growing 5 month old!!! We have obviously hit a lot of milestones since she was a month old. I'm going to throw those kind of things in as I do other blogs, b/c let's be honest I may never go back and do posts on all those things. It has been a very cold winter here in Birmingham so Julia has spent a lot of time wearing these fabulous hats that her Aunt Caroline has knitted! How lucky are we to have a sister/aunt that can knit? We are looking forward to the warmer weather but in the meantime we are enjoying those button eyes in these little caps.

Julia is a rolling/ scooting machine. She rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time when she was about 7 weeks old. The first time she did it, it scared her half to death and I thought it was a fluke. But she has basically been rolling since then. Now she scoots everywhere. The pictures above were taken within seconds of each other. You will notice the first one she is on her cozy puppy blanket and the second she is completely off the blanket on her tummy. Just today she scooted from one end of our den rug to the other end. It's amazing how mobile she is and she isn't even crawling.....we are in for trouble.

Now I know what you are thinking, you just said it had been a cold winter and you guys stayed bundled up and now you are putting half naked baby pictures up. Why is Julia wearing no clothes in the above pictures? It was minutes before this:DINNER TIME. Julia was ending up with green beans EVERYWHERE so I decided she could eat in just a diaper and bib! In just a matter of days she has become a much neater eater so we should be adding clothes back to dinner time soon. We started Julia on rice cereal when she was 4.5 months old. She was not a fan but she tolerated it. After a 4 days of just cereal we added a little green beans to help the taste. She loved it! So far she is eating just once a day and has tried green beans, peas and prunes. Loves them all.... speaking of peas. Julia was a pea in a pod for her first Halloween. Since I never did that post here are some pictures from her first Halloween.
Yes-she is sound asleep with her paci propped on the stuffing of the first pea. Needless to say, she was not crazy about being in a pea costume. Can you blame her?
I digressed but I mentioned I was going to try to throw in things I had not previously blogged about when I got the opportunity.

Julia is also sitting up pretty good. She can't pull herself into a sitting position but she sits pretty good if you prop her up. She loves to explore things so as long as she can see what is going on she is happy. She is also rambling, cooing and ahhing at the top of her lungs. She wakes up every morning talking to herself. It is the sweetest sound you will ever hear!!! It truly helps me and Marc start EVERY single morning off in a good mood. Alright, so if you have read this much I'm sure you are beginning to share Julia's sentiments below. Thanks for reading and bye bye.

Happy Birthday KK!

Happy Birthday KK! Marc, Julia and I love you so much. Words cannot say enough about how much we appreciate you. You are a truly amazing woman and I have longed to be half the mother you are to us! It was been so WONDERFUL having you stay with Julia each day. She absolutely adores you and we love knowing that she is in the best hands. We are so excited that we get to celebrate your birthday with you this year. Here's to a day filled with nothing other than exactly what you want to do. Happy Birthday to Mom!!!

It's amazing that KK keeps Julia everyday and the above pictures are the only ones we have! I must get better. I am posting this one of Julia b/c she was laughing at KK. This face pretty much sums up our love for her!

Hello World - It's me - Julia!

Hello world! It's me - Julia. I'm blogging for my mama! She can't seem to find enough time to update you on all the things going on and we have had a lot going on! She and daddy have been very busy with something they call work. Work sounds kind of silly to me...I thought that all you had to do was play all day. Oh well. This is a specific hello to my Papa! I overheard him asking daddy about this blog and I wanted him to know how much I was missing he and Nanny. Papa - How is my JP doing? For those you don't know that is my goat at Papa's house. She is a beautiful blonde like me.

Oh yeah guess what? I get to eat food from a spoon now. I'm starting to really like it!! See here I am asking for more. Yummy.
I also had my first real play date with Mary Lynne. I can't wait to get to play with her again. She is crawling and pulling up and she is soo sweet. Mary Lynne's mom did a great blog on our play date but I'm going to have let mom figure out how to link to that post!!!! Remember I am only 5 months old.

Okay it's past my bedtime but I just wanted to do a quick little girl hello!!! Hopefully my mom will give up some of this work business and get back to telling you about all the cute things I do! Night night!

Hi Dad

Hi Dad,

While you were in Atlanta, I may or may or may not have gotten a PINK Christmas Tree.

Oh Santa's elf is watching, I better tell you the truth.

I got my very own Christmas tree. You like?

A bow because, duh, I am a girl.

A horn because I LOVE music.

AND a snowflake because I got the tree the day of my very first snow.

Announcing Mr. and Mrs.

Julesbug made her first trip to Shreveport for this joyous occasion. After 8 years of dating Uncle John and MC tied the knot. Everything was absolutely beautiful and Mary Claire was the most stunning bride. I did a horrible job taking pictures of anything. They had the coolest photographer from Birmingham so I can't wait to see the professional pictures.

Jules made her apperance at her first rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. With both Marc and me in the wedding , she also had her first babysitter before and during the wedding ceremony! Of coures she was absolutely:

perfect for all of it! Didn't make a peep through anything but of course it helped that she had a TON of loving aunts, cousins and friends to help keep her entertained. Marc and I even got a chance to bust some moves on the dance floor.

As cute as the ab0ve tiffany blue onesie is, she did not wear it to any of the aforementioned functions. She wore a beautiful gown smocked by her KK but I failed to get any pictures. I'm planning on having some professional pictures made in the same gown so hopefully you can see it!

A bonus to trip to Shreveport was all the family that Julia got to meet for the first time. We couldn't have made through the weekend without all the help of the family. There was always a grandmother, aunt or cousin ready to help with the bug when Marc and I had wedding duties. Again failed to get any pictures....so I'll leave you with this preciousness.
